Happy Monday! I’m getting a late start on my blogging today because I have been so busy doing things around the house. Since the day is already more than halfway through I’ll just remind you to keep up the good work!
Here’s a motivational quote to get you through the rest of the week..
“Don’t ruin a good today by thinking about a bad yesterday. Let it go”
Happy Labor Day! I hope that all of you hard workers were able to spend this Monday relaxing.
Since you’ll most likely be getting back to work tomorrow, this is really more of a Motivation Tuesday than a Motivation Monday. But hopefully it will help you to keep a positive attitude through the rest of the week.
So here goes,
“Don’t think about what can happen in a month. Don’t think about what can happen in a year. Just focus on the 24 hours in front of you and do what you can to get closer to where you want to be.”
Basically just do something each day to better yourself and have a lovely week!
Today I’ll keep it short and sweet with a quick quote.
“Your life is a result of your choices. If you don’t like your life, it’s time to make some better choices”
It speaks for itself. Choose to have fun. Choose to be healthy. Choose to surround yourself with good people. Choose to spread positivity. Choose to love others. Choose a job you love. & Choose happiness.
Oops, I almost forgot about Motivation Monday, but better late than never I suppose!
Today I picked a quote that made me feel a little better about my life so hopefully it will do the same for you!
“You are never too old to set another goal or dream another dream.”
Ok let’s be honest, I think at some point you may be too old to set (or more accurately, accomplish) a new goal. For example, I wouldn’t reccomend skydiving if you’re 80 years old. BUT in most cases this quote is so accurate.
Personally, I have been feeling a little bit stuck in the career aspect of my life. For a long time I didn’t even know what I wanted to do and when I finally figured out what I might like to do, I stopped going to school, got married and moved to North Carolina.
I took a bit of a hiatus from school and figured I would start back up after I moved, but I quickly realized that it would be easier to just wait until we live somewhere more permanently in order to finish my schooling.
Anyway, what I’m trying to say is that this quote really hits home for at this time in my life. It makes me feel a little better about the fact that I’m not doing much at the moment. It helps me to remember that I’m 23 years young and I still have time to find the career of my dreams or accomplish any other goals I have for myself.
So I hope whether you’re 18 or 80, that you have been reminded of what your goals are and that you are capable of achieving them.
As I am sure you are aware, it’s Monday again! Which means that it’s time for a little motivation.
For today I have chosen a quote from one of the Harry Potter movies to help remind you of something.
“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
Good ole Dumbledore was so wise. Although he wouldn’t even exist without the brilliant mind of J.K. Rowling. So I guess technically this is her quote.
Anyway, when I first heard this it just about gave me the chills. It’s a great way of saying that YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF YOUR OWN HAPPINESS.
Of course there are circumstances in which we can not control our emotions such as the loss of a loved one or any sort of terminal or mental illness, BUT if your biggest problem today is that you’re having a bad day at work or your boss is being mean, then GET OVER IT and TAKE CHARGE of your happiness.
Don’t let someone else decide whether you’re going to have a good day or not, that’s up to you! Just think about how lucky you are to have woken up this morning.
I mean, it is your life after all. Make it a good one!
Have a magical Monday readers! (get it? magical… because harry potter… never mind)
As I browsed through our local arts & crafts store trying to find a DIY project to blog about, I saw that canvases were being sold in pairs for only $6 so I figured I would give painting a shot! I grabbed a couple of canvases along with a cheap pack of brushes and a few paints and left the store eager to create my very own wall art.
I had no idea where to start, but I knew that I wanted to including writing in my art. I soon regretted this decision when I realized how difficult it is to paint perfect letters. But it turned out alright…. I think.
I squeezed the paint colors that I wanted to use onto a small paper plate and filled a plastic cup with water to clean the brushes.
I was trying to create sort of an abstract background before I painted the quotes, and I’ll admit that I had no idea what I was doing….. so it ended up looking like this.
Although it turned out nothing like I had expected, I was still going to try and finish my piece by adding a quote.
I’m no paint expert so I don’t know if its just the type of paint that I was using (Acrylic) that made it difficult or if painting just isn’t my forte. Anyway, I think with a little more practice I could probably make something that I would really be proud of but this was my first try so cut me some slack!
The best part of the activity was that Blake actually took a break from studying and painted with me. And much to my surprise, he created an adorable little piece of art. I mean, is there anything that guy can’t do?
