Happy Monday everyone!!
Things are finally starting to cool down a bit here in southern California and just as the leaves are getting ready for change, so am I. In less than a week Blake and I will be moving into our first house! It’s so exciting but scary at the same time. For some reason I think I’m more nervous to move two hours away than I was to move to the other side of the country. I assume that it’s because this is a more permanent situation but I know that once we get down there and settle in it will be amazing to finally have our own home.
Today I want to encourage you to overcome your fears. I can be the type of person who lets the fear of the unknown get to me, I realize though that once I get through whatever it is that makes me nervous or scared I always feel better about myself for having at least tried.
Whether it is work related or something having to do with your personal life, it is always good to overcome your fears!
Have a beautiful Monday!
As promised, I’m sharing one thing that I am grateful for each week and with today being the 15th anniversary of 9/11 I thought that this would be an appropriate subject.
Although it was a beyond tragic event, it brought people together and proved that a community can work together to make a bad situation a little better. Our men and women in uniform sacrificed so much to keep the rest of us safe and that alone is something to be grateful for.
There are so many countries in which people are lacking in basic human rights. It’s a shame that we can’t get everyone on the same page but it’s all the more reason to make sure that you don’t take your freedom for granted.
I’m proud to live in a country full of opportunity and I hope that we can continue to make America a wonderful place to live.
In memory of those who lost their lives on this day 15 years ago, we will never forget.
Happy Labor Day! I hope that all of you hard workers were able to spend this Monday relaxing.
Since you’ll most likely be getting back to work tomorrow, this is really more of a Motivation Tuesday than a Motivation Monday. But hopefully it will help you to keep a positive attitude through the rest of the week.
So here goes,
“Don’t think about what can happen in a month. Don’t think about what can happen in a year. Just focus on the 24 hours in front of you and do what you can to get closer to where you want to be.”
Basically just do something each day to better yourself and have a lovely week!
Happy Monday, I hope everyone had a great weekend!
Today I just want to share a quote that I thought was really cute.
“Be a pineapple
wear a crown
& be sweet on the inside”
It may seem silly to compare yourself to a fruit but if a pineapple can be confident then so can you! haha 🙂
Have a beautiful Monday!
I’ve made it through another year of life and rather than dreading getting older I’m feeling very grateful to be alive and surrounded by so much love. I spent my birthday, first by having a nice lunch with my grandma who has taken me out to lunch for almost every single birthday of my life. Later in the day, a few of my friends and some of my family joined me for a lovely birthday dinner at a Thai restaurant.
I sort of threw the plans together at the last minute because I almost forgot that it was my birthday. It was a Tuesday and I was still so wrapped up in the festivities of my brothers wedding over the weekend. Also, I never thought I would be this person.. but I can see how people lose enthusiasm for their birthdays the older they get.
This birthday was a wonderful reminder of what I should really be grateful for in life. I wasn’t expecting any gifts which made it even more of a treat when I actually got one. I wasn’t expecting so many people to be able to attend a last minute get-together but those who showed up made it really special. Even just a card with a sweet little note inside made me happy and reminded me that I am loved.
They say less is more, and in this case it certainly was. So since I have been reminded of all the little things in life that make me happy I’ve decided to start a gratitude train. I’ll think of something that I am grateful for and share with you each week until Thanksgiving. I encourage you to think of the things in your life that make you happy to be alive. You can share in a comment below or keep them to yourself, just remember that there is always something to be grateful for!
I hope everyone had as great of a weekend as I did. Saturday was my brothers wedding and it couldn’t have been more beautiful. It’s always a good time when you’re surrounded by family, friends, delicious food and good music (oh and free drinks are nice too)! Unfortunately the weekend seemed to fly by really fast but on the other hand, there is still plenty of celebrating for me to do!
In my family, this is the week of birthdays! My cousin Troy turns 17 today, I turn 24 tomorrow, my cousin Meghan turns 24 the next day, and my cousin Alexander turns 14 on the 25th!
I love telling people about that because I think it’s so cool and rare that my cousins and I have birthdays one day after another.
So on this particular Monday I’ll remind you that there is always something to celebrate and someone to celebrate with. Make it through your work day by reminding yourself that you’re one day closer to celebrating something, whether it’s a birthday, wedding, anniversary, graduation or any holiday, it is one day closer than it was yesterday!
Have a wonderful Monday and Happy Birthday to my awesome cousin Troy!
Happy Monday once again!
Today I’ll keep it short and sweet with a quick quote.
“Your life is a result of your choices. If you don’t like your life, it’s time to make some better choices”
It speaks for itself. Choose to have fun. Choose to be healthy. Choose to surround yourself with good people. Choose to spread positivity. Choose to love others. Choose a job you love. & Choose happiness.
Love to all! XOXO
Any time you feel like you’re down on your luck or just having a really bad day, remind yourself that it could always be worse.
For example, my car has been really bringing me down lately. Blake and I bought a 2001 Honda Civic as a temporary car for me, figuring that it was inexpensive and reliable enough to last until I get a job and can buy something newer.
First was the horrific trip home from Vegas. But as awful as it was, I can’t help but think that it could have definitely been worse. We could have gotten into an accident and been seriously injured or I could have been hungover and throwing up out of the tow trucks window for 3 hours. HAHA- thankfully I did not drink the night before.
After purchasing new tires and thinking that the worst of my troubles were over, my car decided to just stop working on Thursday when I was on my way home from South Pasadena. As irritated as I was to once again be stranded on the side of the road, (but this time by myself) I know for sure that it definitely could have been worse. It didn’t break down until I got off the freeway and was close to home, I was in a safe area where I could pull to the side of the road and my friend was there within minutes to pick me up.
Two strangers stopped to make sure I was ok, my father-in-law rushed over to help figure out what was wrong with the car and my friend stayed with me until the car was towed away. I was more grateful to be surrounded by good people than I was angry about the car breaking down.
In any given situation, things could always be worse. So try to focus on the GOOD!
Happy Monday, make it a great one!!
Happy Monday and Happy August (AKA my birth month!!)
If you read last weeks Motivation Monday then you know that my week ended on a pretty miserable note. As Alina and I endured our treacherous ride home from Vegas, we agreed that with such a horrible day something better would surely come our way this week.
And guess what? Good things did happen! Alina was offered a new job and Blake and I FINALLY found a house!
I guess you just have to take the bad days as they come because they will make you way more appreciative for the good ones! Be thankful for Mondays and any other day you may deem to be “bad” because without the bad, great days would only be normal.
Happy Monday friends! Today I want to motivate you to do something that you have always wanted to do, but have never had the courage and/or time to actually do it. Mondays are a lot better when you have something to look forward to so think of this Monday as another step closer to finally doing that thing you’ve always wanted to do.
Here are a few things that I could think of that you might want to try!
- Go skydiving
- Buy that pair of shoes you love- then go out and flaunt them
- Take a ceramics class
- Go to disneyland
- Get a dog
- Go on an evening hike
- Get a tattoo
- Go scuba diving
- Go on a tropical vacation
- Attend the live filming of a talk show
- Go parasailing
- Attend a wine and paint night
- Go to a museum
- Go zip lining
- Take a cooking class
- Go to a drive-in movie
- Read a good book
- Make a new friend
- Start a blog!
I could go on forever but it’s all about what you really want and that’s something you have to figure out for yourself! Now start thinking of what you would love to do and have a beautiful week 🙂
